Capacity

240 people. The sellable capacity of the venue is 240 with an open floor plan. As we add furniture to the layout, capacity lowers. The venue will help to determine the best layout for your event to maximize sales and patron experience.

Your guest list, performers, staff total will come out of the total 240 capacity. Ex. If you have 20 staff, the sellable capacity is 220.

Time Limitations

The VEC can accommodate rentals during any period of the day with enough notice. All events must be completed before 2am. Patrons & guests must be out of the building by 2:30am. No exceptions.

Technical Information

Sound Check:

  • Monday – Saturday: 6pm
  • Sunday: 5:30pm

Stage set-up and line checks can happen prior to the above times upon approval.

Outside Noise Levels: 65 dbls (City Bylaw)

General Limitations

  • No Confetti
  • No Glitter
  • No Rice
  • No Fire 
  • No Water 
  • No Smoke
  • No Pyro 
  • No Pets/Animals
  • Ask the VEC how/where to hang decorations.
  • No outside liquor is permitted. (Ejection & $200 fine)
  • No vaping inside the venue (Ejection & $200 fine)

Parking

There is no private parking available at the VEC.
There is street parking along Broad St. and parkades located nearby.

Storage

The VEC can not accommodate storage of any kind before or after your event. Any items that are left at the VEC for longer than a week following your event/show, will be disposed of by the VEC Staff (taken to thrift store or thrown in the garbage).
