June 19 @ 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
An event every 2 weeks that begins at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, repeating until December 18, 2019
***The best way to predict the future is to create it***
Every 2nd Wednesday beginning on June 19th, Creative Revolution: Collective Arts for Climate Justice will be hosting a drop-in afternoon of artivism with our friends at the Victoria Event Centre.
This is a fun afternoon of offline, hands-on, community-driven art with all supplies provided (by donation). Drop-in anytime between 4-6PM every second Wednesday, unless otherwise posted!
Each week we’ll be working on something new to support the efforts of grassroots activists and cultural community associations that work overtime to address the current crises that we’re facing together. This will range from workshops on creative direct-action to lessons in traditional arts practices, to using wood-cut prints, to building giant puppets and banners for rallies, to re-imagining the city’s design, to planning for a dance flash-mob, to anything that might creatively empower us.
*Let us host your art workshop!* If you are an artist, organization, creative mastermind or an individual that would like to partner with us on a theme, please contact email@example.com. We are just getting started and are keen to collaborate with you.
Come and play, no prior experience is necessary!
This is a queer-friendly, BIPOC-friendly (black, Indigenous, and people of colour) and **anti-capitalist** space on the lands of the Coast Salish and Lekwungen-speaking peoples, including the Esquimalt, Songhees, and W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations.
About Creative Revolution: Collective Arts for Climate Justice: Through arts-focused organizing, skill building and collaborative action, we’re working to spark and nurture the empowerment and resilience required in our community to prevent and respond to complex social and ecological crises.
