The VEC does not have a kitchen. The bar sells chips and occasionally pizza. There are no limitations around catering – you may hire the caterer of your choice for your event. The catering company will have access to sinks, running water, counter space and tables, refrigeration and the freight elevator. There are plenty of options for setting up your catering at the VEC and we’d be happy to outline those for you.
The VEC supports local island businesses and has selected Phillips Brewery and Merridale Cider to have on tap behind the bar. The bar also offers the basic range of highballs, house red and white wine and a variety of non-alcoholic pops and juices and bottled water. If there is something specific that you’d like to have available at the bar, we would consider your request in advance.

Phillips Blue Buck Ale, Phillips Phoenix Gold Lager, and we switch up the third offering depending on the season. For this wintry time of year, we’re serving Phillips Black Jackal Imperial Coffee Stout. Pouring a deep black earth colour with a medium tan head, this beer is brewed with freshly roasted coffee beans and then finished with a second coffee addition just prior to packaging. The flavour is a java-laden journey featuring bright coffee aromas and dry roasted flavours accented with hints of dark chocolate. Methodically crafted with only the best local coffee, this one-eyed Jackal is no wildcard.
